Rapid Fire Hunter's Star


This is the latest finish at my house.  It doesn't have a destination yet, but I'm considering a couple of options.

The sewing club 
met again today and this time we finished our flannel pj pants.   They 
did a really great job.      I recall that in my "Home Ec" days, we 
weren't allowed to even "think" about making pants until 3rd year.  The 
girls are already planning to make a pair for their Dads for Father's 
day.

I got the FMQ done in the main body of the quilt.  There still is the top section that covers the pillows, and the sashing and borders to do, but I still think I got a lot done. After spending two days trying to get the electrical repairs figured out- to move two fixture boxes, move an outlet, add 2 outlets, and move 2 switches, I gave up. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it :)Anyway, I had an extra cafe curtain rod in the back of a closet and got this idea of putting the mounting brackets on the roof of the porch, so I could hang the quilts there, and photograph them myself. I must say, I'm liking the ruler work.  It makes sewing the straight lines so much easier. Since I was also echo stitching around the appliques, I was using my quilting foot instead of my walking foot.  With my walking foot, straight lines are easy peasy. It's come along quite nicely once I got those tiny 4 piece blocks done.  So, here's a pic of the quilt top so far.Now I'm auditioning borders.  I want to use the three colours in a border but I'm not sure of the widths. I started it in February, then got distracted by another quilt, and some cross-stitching, and some parenting, etc.  It's been on the frame for 2 weeks waiting for me to quilt it.  Tonight was the night.  What better project to do on a FNSI.   So, after 2 1/2 hours the quilting was done.
